O N E of O N E C O L L E C T I V E is an organization (part nonprofit, part B Corp) dedicated to designing & building villages in the U.S. that create systemic peace, justice, & flourishing for all humans & the natural world.

“Perhaps,” as Glennon Doyle proposes, “the deepest truth is not what we see, but what we can imagine.” It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the problems all around us in the world right now. But when we bravely and calmly look at them, the problems are our teachers and our collective best-case-scenario dreams show us how to heal.
What is place-based healing?
All our gnarliest problems are the systemic ones (you know, racism, climate change, poverty…). They can only be healed by redesigning the way we live top to bottom—systematically reconnecting us to ourselves, to each other, and to the natural world in embodied, physical ways, one place at a time.

How can we embody systemic peace?
For most of us (humans and the rest of the planet), our manmade environments work against our flourishing, not toward it. It makes you wonder… What would womanmade environments look like? How would marginalized people design communities? What if we shared power? What would it look like to build environments designed for flourishing, for all?
Flourishing, healing & justice can happen by designing & building one village at a time.
How does nature replace the biggest trees in the forest?
It’s easy to feel like the systemic problems around us are too big to change—and they are when you look at them on a macro level. But if enough of us tiny people contribute in tiny ways, we can decompose old dead systems down into their most essential elements and reconstruct them into small new living systems…that eventually change the big systems.
